Background
The ASEAN Youth Culture Initiative Connect (AYCIC) is one of the flagship regional platforms initiated by Youth for Education that focuses on empowering young people across Southeast Asia through cultural understanding, creativity, and collaboration. It was founded on the belief that youth play a vital role in strengthening ASEAN solidarity by embracing cultural diversity and building inclusive communities. Through AYCIC, young leaders from different countries are brought together to engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange traditions and ideas, and co-create initiatives that highlight ASEAN’s rich cultural heritage.
The program has grown to become a space where youth can not only celebrate differences but also transform them into opportunities for unity and innovation. Participants are equipped with leadership skills, cross-cultural competencies, and practical experiences that help them initiate projects in their own communities. AYCIC also emphasizes the importance of community impact by supporting youth-led initiatives that address local and regional challenges through education, arts, and innovation.
By fostering networks of young changemakers, AYCIC ensures that the spirit of collaboration and inclusivity lives on long after each summit concludes. Through this initiative, Youth for Education continues its mission of equipping youth with the skills, networks, and experiences they need to become advocates of peace, inclusion, and sustainable development across the ASEAN region and beyond.
