AYCIC #6 THE ASEAN LITERACY SUMMIT

The ASEAN Literacy Summit is the 6th edition of the ASEAN Youth Culture Initiative Connect (AYCIC), organized by Youth for Education. AYCIC CHAPTER #5

AYCIC #5 was held across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds ranging from students and teachers to professional workers and researchers. This edition marked a stronger regional scope with youth and young professionals joining from across ASEAN, including the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and Indonesia. By engaging in intercultural dialogue, collaborative learning, and cultural immersion, AYCIC #5 strengthened its role as a platform for unity in diversity, empowering participants to share perspectives, build networks, and co-create solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable Southeast Asia.

AYCIC CHAPTER 4

AYCIC #4 was hosted in Cambodia and brought together a diverse group of Indonesian participants, This edition highlighted the value of academic diversity and cross-disciplinary collaboration in fostering youth leadership and cultural diplomacy. During the program, participants visited the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Phnom Penh and explored Cambodia’s rich cultural sites, creating opportunities for dialogue, mutual learning, and regional understanding. AYCIC #4 further strengthened its mission of building intercultural competencies and promoting youth as cultural ambassadors within ASEAN.

AYCIC CHAPTER #3

The program took place in Malaysia and expanded its collaborative spirit by involving students from some of Indonesia’s most prestigious universities, including Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Islam Indonesia (Yogyakarta). This edition emphasized the importance of academic and cultural exchange as a pathway to strengthening youth leadership and regional solidarity. By engaging university students across borders, AYCIC #3 aimed to nurture critical thinking, intercultural competencies, and collaborative innovation preparing a generation of ASEAN youth who are ready to transform diversity into a shared strength for the future of the region.

AYCIC CHAPTER #2

Continued the spirit of intercultural collaboration by engaging high school and university students in Indonesia. In this edition, AYCIC partnered with students from SMA Tunas Unggul Bandung and Telkom University Bandung, created a platform for dialogue, cultural exchange, and collaborative learning. The program aimed to strengthen cross-generational youth engagement, fostered leadership skills, and highlighted the role of education as a bridge to unity in diversity.

AYCIC CHAPTER #1

Marked the beginning of a regional youth movement that connected youth through culture and collaboration. By engaging youth from Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, this inaugural edition aimed to promote intercultural understanding, strengthened youth leadership, and laid the foundation for a generation that embraced unity in diversity while contributing to sustainable regional development.
